Craftie Cafe - Planner Stamp Tags (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm here for Craftie Café and for today’s project I’ll be using Planner stamps to create some simple tags that I created under 10 minutes. I’ll also be using an older design of card that I created and using that to scale down onto a tag – which makes a tag design super easy to replicate fast.

To begin, I die cut three tags from the ‘Tag You’re It’ die set from Lawn Fawn out of some white cardstock. I then used the Cloud Stencil from My Favorite Things and ink blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the layers to create a cloud background. You could create your own stencil though, if you don’t happen to have this stencil. You could just cut out some cloud shapes from printer paper and hold it over top, or use a die to die cut the border out of some cardstock or acetate, whatever you like really. Once I ink blended over the top I pulled out the Plan on It: Birthdays set from Lawn Fawn and stamped five balloons in a row next to each other on each tag and I also stamped the balloon strings underneath as well.

Next up, I coloured the balloons. I used Copic Markers to colour all the balloons in with rainbow colours. Once I coloured all the images in, I used a banner die cut and cut three banner strips from black cardstock, then used the ‘Happy BDay’ sentiment from the Plan on It: Birthdays set also and white heat embossed the sentiment on each of the strips. I then added foam tape on the back of all the strips and adhered them to my tags.

To finish up my tags, I threaded through some natural twine in each, then used some solid red twine to tie a bow at the top of each tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired to create some quick tags using small images from planner stamps. They have so many uses besides just using them for your planner.

My Favorite Things - 3 Window Cards (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm so excited to be here as I'm a video guest designer for My Favorite Things this month. I'm so incredibly honoured and grateful to have the opportunity to guest design for such an amazing company.

In this video, I used a ton of the brand new January release to create three different types of window cards.

For this card, I used the new Brushstrokes Blooms stamp set along with the Heart Maze Shapes to create a see-through shaker maze card. I used Distress Inks to stamp the flowers to make them appear watercoloured.

For this card, I used the new Hearts in a Row Vertical Dies along with Raving Racoons and some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to create a window multi shaker card.

And for this card, I used the Full of Heart Dies to create a full front panel window card, that when you open the card, it reveals all the Distress Ink blending on the inside. A bit of a different card, but I think it turned out super nice! I also used the amazing From the Heart stamp set for the sentiments.

Again, thank you so much for MFT for having me today - I had a blast playing with your new release!

The video is linked down below in case you haven't checked it out and want to know the full steps for each of these cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Craft Space Tour 2018 (Video)

Hi crafty friends, today I finally have my updated craft space tour for you all. It's taken me 6 months, but I'm finally here with how I can enjoy my space the best. This will likely change in a few months since I'll be having family move out and there will be more space and I won't have to share my crafty space with my bedroom, but as it is - this is the way I have my room organised and I love it.

I'm going to try my best to share with you all how I organise everything, but just be aware, unlike before my crafty space is a working area for me now, it's no longer just a hobby which means as much as I love to have everything organised, I just don't have as much time for that anymore, so things aren't always necessarily going to be pretty and some things are messy but it's real, this is how I work in this room everyday and it's works perfectly for me.

So anyway, having said all this, there will be a much as possible detailed list below of all the products that make up my room, obviously some things I picked up overseas and some things are discontinued and things but I've linked to as many things as possible!

Below is a video (sorry that it's a little shaky) of an in-depth tour.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed having a little look around at where I work and were hopefully inspired!

A list of supplies that make up my room are down below. I'm not affiliated with any of these companies below, it's more to just link you too the things I use!

New Sunny Studio Stamps Release:

Craftie Cafe - DIY Calendar (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm here for Craftie Café and for today’s project I’ll be making a DIY Calendar using some Lawn Fawn stamps. This would be such a perfect Christmas gift, even though it’s now passed; there’s always next year, right?

To begin my calendar, I first made up my template calendars on word. I just made a simple 7x7 table, removed all the lines in the top row and then made the second row not as high. Then, typed in the month in the top row, then the days in the second row and then using the calendar on my phone, filled in all the days. For this calendar, I didn’t want to make it like a planner, where you write things on the day – it’s more so to see the date at first sight and maybe to highlight important days. It’s something that you can stick on your fridge, or desk or even attach it to the inside of notebook for school/work, since it’s quite flat. Once I made my calendar pages, I printed them out four to a page on some basic printer paper, then trimmed around them and stapled them all together at the top. I did this so it would be easy to rip off each month as it comes around.

Now to move on to the making of my calendar. I took the Party Animal stamp set by Lawn Fawn and stamped out a ton of images onto some white cardstock, using Jet Black Ink from Lawn Fawn also. I coloured my images in with Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Next, I could work on my main panel. I cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock (but white cardstock could work here too) to 7” tall by 4 ½” wide. I felt like this size would fit my entire scene well. I then took a strip of masking tape, cut my own hill shape and adhered down the positive piece first over the bottom half of my panel. Then I took Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink to ink blend over the entire top half of my panel, fading up into white. Then, removed my positive piece, put over the negative piece and blended some Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink at the bottom, again fading down to white. Once my background was coloured, I flicked a little water over top and heat dried it too give it a little water splotch effect.

Next, I needed to work on my numbers. I cut the numbers from the Modern Numerals Die Set from WPlus9 to make 2018 and used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to ink blend some ombre effect on there, just to make them stand out. Now I could assemble. I added foam tape onto the backs of the numbers and most of my images. I then adhered my numbers at the top of my panel first, making sure they were centred. Then, I placed over my calendar underneath temporarily and placed my balloons in place. I knew they needed to go under my calendar but I wanted to make sure they weren’t covered too much. I adhered my balloons down with flat adhesive, then adhered my three main animals over top. I added the two birds each next to them and the party hat on the centre fox. Then, used flat adhesive to adhere all the party poppers and things in their mouths, to make them seem excited for the new year. Lastly, I adhered my calendar in the middle with some more strong flat adhesive.

So that finishes up my calendar for today. The video is linked down below as well as thee document to download the calendar word document (hopefully it's works!)

I hope you were inspired to create something a little more DIY and that can be used for a gift. Below are some tips to make the calendar last longer in quality and in years.

  • Tip One: Laminate the base, images and numbers. This is going to increase the quality of your project, you can still do everything the same; like the steps and all, since the coordinating dies will even still work with the laminate. I chose not to do this since it’s only going to be used for the year and only for me, but if it was going to be a gift, I would laminate most aspects of the project. But still assemble the same.
  • Tip Two: Either removing the year or making it magnetic. You could include extra paper or laminated numbers with a magnet on the back so it could be changed for later years to come. You could use strips of magnetic tape or magnetic dots to create this effect and this brings it to the next tip. Of course, because it will be bulkier and the magnetic numbers could fall off, it won’t be able to go inside a notebook or be travelled with; but hey, it can be used for many more years!
  • Tip Three: Make more than 1 year of calendars and include it in the gift. Do exactly what you did in word with the calendar templates, but make an extra couple for the next few years. That way, when the year is over; if the calendar survived – you can just tape the new calendar over the previous year and start all over again. This will work when using Tip Two also.

So, thank you so much for stopping by today and I’ll catch you next time!
