Craftie Cafe - Love You Friend (Video)

Hi friends, today I'm here for Craftie Café and for today’s project I’ll be using the Taylored Expressions Succulent 1 Stamp Set along with the Huge Love Dies from My Favorite Things to create a word shaker friendship card.

To begin my card today, I cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock and used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform tool to stamp my large succulent image. I stamped it down in some black ink and clear heat embossed over the image, so the watercolour could be more easily contained. Once I stamped the image, I used my Mijello Misson Gold Watercolour Palette to colour my image. I used the packaging from the stamp set as colour inspiration for the image colouring. To colour it, I first laid down a base coat of green, dried it off slightly and then added the purple and blended it out a little. Once I finished colouring my image, I dried it completely and cut down my piece of paper to be even slimmer since the flower didn’t get stamped in the centre.

Next up, I used the Huge Love die to cut the word out of the centre of my flower. Once my piece was cut I was sure to keep the letters as I wanted to use them later. I adhered a piece of acetate on the back of my love die cut opening and then adhered the centre of the ‘o’ onto the front of the panel. Then, I added two layers of foam tape all along the back of my panel and around the word to section it off for the sequins. Next up, because I wanted the letters that were die cut before to be behind the sequins, I took another piece of paper, die cut the word once again as a template and adhered the letters in the exact position on a separate piece of paper. Then I knew when I laid over my coloured panel, the letters would line up. I then took some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and added a ton over the ‘Love’ word. I then removed the backers of foam tape from the panel and adhered it over top of the sequins to create my sequin shaker.

To finish up my card, I used the From The Heart stamp set from My Favorite Things and white heat embossed the sentiment ‘You Friend’ onto a strip of black cardstock. I then adhered it over my panel with foam tape also. The last step was to adhere my card together. I took a piece of purple cardstock and adhered a strip down onto my card base, then adhered my panel to the right-hand side. Lastly, I adhered some more sequins onto the base of my card also.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll catch you next time.

Craftie Cafe - Love You Like No Otter (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm here for Craftie Café and for today’s project, I’ll be using the Avery Elle - Otterly Fantastic stamp set along with the Scripty Love dies from Lawn Fawn to create a Valentine’s themed card.

To begin, I first stamped out my images from Otterly Fantastic, coloured them with Copics and cut out my images using the Coordinating Dies. I set them off to the side and moved on to the background. I cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock and used some Waves Dies from Mama Elephant to cut out four separate wave pieces that I can layer together.  Once they were cut out, I took my four colours of Distress Oxide Inks (Twisted CitronCracked PistachioPeacock FeathersSalty Ocean) and ink blended each of the four pieces with each colour. I then cut down a card base, added foam tape along the back of each of the wave pieces and adhered them down onto my base. Next up, I adhered down all my images onto my background also.

Then, I took a piece of watercolour cardstock and used some Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Ink and ink blended a gradient onto the bottom of it. I used the Distress Sprayer Tool to add some water droplets on my background, then dried it off with a heat tool. I then used the Scripty Love Dies from Lawn Fawn to cut out my love word. I added foam tape onto the back and adhered it down onto the bottom left hand side of my scene. Lastly, I white heat embossed the ‘You Like No Otter’ sentiment from Otterly Fantastic onto a black strip of cardstock that I cut from the Slanted Sentiment Strips Dies from My Favorite Things. I adhered it down to my card with more foam tape and my card was complete. A bit of a different design and colour scheme for a Valentine’s card, but super cute!
