Now that all the details are out of the way, let's move onto the card I made.

I used the brand new Cherry Blossoms stamp along with Encouraging Greetings also. I also pulled in some of the new Jewels to scatter as a nice finishing touch.

To begin my card today, I first started off with creating my background. I wanted to use some of my alcohol inks as I'm always looking for ways to make myself better with them. I used the Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks in Flamingo and Coral, and tapped the inks onto the Yupo paper background. I then used some alcohol solution to help move the ink about. Once the Yupo was saturated, I used the Distress Marker Spritzer tool and blew some air to get the ink to move around and create ripples also. Once I was happy with the results, I used my heat tool to dry the background. Using that also created more ripples. I set it aside to dry and worked on the flowers.

I used some Copic Markers to colour in my Cherry Blossoms today, I went with a super light shade of pink to make them look as realistic as possible. I also did the same with the leaves. Once they were coloured, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Copic Colours Used: R000, R00, R21, R22 / G20, YG21, YG23

Now that all my elements are ready, before I could assemble, I wanted to add some gold onto my background. So I used the Starry Colours Palette from Kuretake Gansai and traced over the rippled lines with the gold watercolour paint. I was inspired by all the amazing Alcohol ink artists on Instagram at the moment, I love it with they do it. Once that was done, I dried it quickly and adhered down my flowers and leaves with foam squares. For my sentiment, I white heat embossed the 'You Make Me Smile' sentiment from Encouraging Greetings onto a rectangle of black cardstock. Once that was embossed, I adhered it onto my background using more foam squares. To finish off my entire panel I used some Pink Blush and Watermelon jewels, and adhered them down using some Multi Medium Matte adhesive.

To completely finish up, I used a piece of green cardstock, cut it down to the size of my card base and then cut it at a diagonal. This is so I could have a white/green card base. I adhered down my green cardstock and then adhered my panel over top using fun foam.

That finished up my card for today, I hope you enjoyed. The video will be linked down below incase you would rather watch that.

The next person on your hop is Shannon McComb, make sure you head over there and leave a comment for your chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll catch you next time.

  60. I love the Cherry Blossoms stamps. They are so pretty. I've seen pictures of the Cherry Blossoms in Washington and Japan and they are so pretty. My mom went on her honeymoon to Washington for a few days and she actually got to see them. I wish I could go but Washington isn't as safe today as it was when she went. I love the way you colored them. The pink is so pretty! Thank you for showing us your pink card and for giving us the chance to win something!

  70. I really like your card Eloise. I really like the blossoms. I have some alcohol inks but havent broken them out yet. I did however see a video the other day where someone had used foil over those dark bits that sort of stay a bit sticky. Maybe you could give that a try when you give it another go.
